Bathroom pendant lights are a beautifully stylish and increasingly popular choice for modern bathroom design, adding a touch of luxury and personality to a space that’s often overlooked when it comes to decorative lighting. As with all bathroom lighting, safety is paramount — bathroom pendant lights must carry the correct IP (Ingress Protection) rating for the zone in which they are installed. Here’s a quick guide to bathroom zones:

Zone 0 — Inside the bath or shower. Must be low voltage (max 12v) with a minimum rating of IP67.
Zone 1 — Above the bath or shower up to a height of 2.25m. Minimum IP44 required.
Zone 2 — The area 60cm beyond the edge of the bath or shower, up to 2.25m high. Minimum IP44 required.

We always recommend consulting a qualified electrician for installation, and ensuring your bathroom lighting circuit is protected by an RCD.
